Knowledge is the Believers Source of Strength

Posted By marita on August 8, 2010

If you read my post a few month ago titled Knowing vs Knowing to Much you might think I am doing a flip flop.  I’m not, however, this week one of my devotional readings was by Charles Spurgeon and it  was very thought provoking. The text he derived his beginning thoughts from was Daniel 11:32.

“And such as do wickedly against the covenant shall he corrupt by flatteries: but the people that do know their God shall be strong, and do exploits.”

The meaning of knowledge in this text is knowing God through the scriptures. There are five areas that knowledge strengthens in the believers life when we study and apply the scriptures.

  • Strengthens our faith
  • Strengthens our hope
  • Strengthens our love
  • Strenghtens our patience
  • Fosters grace

May we always seek the knowledge of our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ , to be strengthened in Faith, Hope, Love, Patience and Grace.
